Rick leads the “Royal
Palm Jazz Band”, an
instrumental ensemble that can be
fashioned from a rhythm trio to a full
17 piece jazz and dance band. The
Royal Palm Jazz Band is available
for benefit concerts, private parties or
country club engagements. |

Rick Martorano is founding director of
the “Rick Martorano Singers” and
the
Rick Martorano
Concert Jazz Band, a 16
member singing and 17 piece instrumental
ensemble that performs secular,
contemporary sacred, and pop
music in
all musical styles. |

While attending Hollywood Professional
School, Rick Martorano began his career
as a teenager at ABC Television in
Hollywood California working as a
rehearsal pianist for the Lawrence Welk
TV Show. He began playing the
piano at age five and ended his secondary
school training studying as a piano
student of Madame Julia D’ bal Zunica
from the faculty of The Los Angeles
Conservatory of music (which became The
California Institute of the Arts). |

After a two year enlistment in the US
Navy, Rick Martorano received his
Bachelor and Master Degrees in Music
Composition from Florida State
University. He later earned a
Master's Degree in Music Education from
Rollins College, a Doctorate Degree in
Music and Broadcast Communications from
California Western University and
completed
a Post Graduate Fellowship at
California Institute of the Arts. |

He has served as adjunct faculty in the
performing arts, humanities and mass
communications at Daytona Beach
Community College, Florida State
University, Florida Technological
University (UCF), and Rollins College.
He was Director of
the Broadcast Communications Program in
the Division of Mass Communications
at Bethune-Cookman College. He has
taught privately throughout his career
and has touched hundreds of students. |
