A popular musical with catchy music based on the "coat of many colors" biblical story of Joseph, who is sold as a slave by his brothers because of his ability to explain people's dreams.  When the pharaoh calls on him to break down a dream, Joseph predicts a famine and is made the pharaoh's secondhand man.  When the famine hits, Joseph's brothers come to him for relief and have to pass a test to prove they've changed before he'll forgive them.  Fun for the whole family!

Casting will include adults, young adults ages 13-17, and children ages 8-12 and dancers.  There will be eleven performances for “Joseph” beginning October 13th and ending October 30th.

The Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to life in this musical parable.  Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams.  When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are challenged.

Adult actors are expected to come prepared with their best 16 bars of music, either from the show or one of their own choice.  Auditioning with tracks is encouraged.  There will be an accompanist to play from your score.  Please be dressed for simple movement choreography (combination will be taught).

Children auditions are for a chorus, which appears onstage
throughout the show.

“2010 SuperStars of Central Florida
Talent Competition AUDITIONS”

SuperStars of Central Florida is a talent competition open to
Students between the ages of twelve (12) and eighteen (18),
and Adults nineteen years or of age or older (19+).

Participants may compete in voice, dance, drama, or instrumental music, and may audition as soloists or as an ensemble.  There will be cash prizes or equivalent audio or video studio time awarded for First, Second, and Third Place Winners in both the Student and Adult competitions, as well as scholarship resources.

Contestants, without charge or other compensation, give SuperStars of Volusia the right to film, tape and/or photograph, perform, record, exhibit, display, edit and otherwise use contestants appearance, name, likeness, voice and biographical data for publicity and media purposes.

Ticket prices for general admission seating are $20 for adults and $10 for students.  To purchase tickets, call the Daytona Beach Symphony Society at 386-253-2901.  All major credit cards are accepted.

Any display of poor sportsmanship and/or unbecoming conduct, interference, disturbance or inappropriate behavior created by contestants, parents, chaperones or supporters of the contestant(s) will result in the immediate disqualification of the contestant(s).

If recommended by a Performing Arts instructor, needs-based assistance is available for the audition fee.
